Indian Accusation of Training Indian Maoists
By KTM Metro Reporter
November 23, 2010: the parliamentary committee on International Relations and Human Rights has served a subpoena to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to appear the Secretary to the Ministry to the committee and make clear what has been happening to the letter submitted by Indian ambassador to Nepal Rakesh Sood alleging the Nepalese Maoists have trained the Indian Maoists and have provided them with arms with the help of the outlawed Islamic terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba.
The parliamentary committee has asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to make the Indian letter alleging the Nepalese Maoists for training and providing arms to the Indian Maoists public but the Secretary to Foreign Ministry Madan Kumar Bhattarai in his written clarification to the Parliamentary Committee on International Relations and Human Rights has said that the Indian letter cannot be made public in view of the relations between Nepal and India, and the ongoing investigation into the Indian allegation after the Indian Embassy has submitted its letter to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA); the Committee members have also said that the Indian Embassy has breached the diplomatic norms submitting the letter to MoHA instead of presenting it to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of November 20, 2010 writes quoting the state news agency RSS.
Some members of the parliamentary Committee have said that the Indian embassy has alleged the Nepalese Maoists that they have trained the Indian Maoists and provide them with arms in retaliation to the Maoist cadres pelting stones and shoes at the convoy of Indian Ambassador Rakesh Sood when he visited the development projects built with the Indian assistance in the Solukhumbu district last month.
