Most Corrupt And Incompetent Government: Say CPN-UML Leaders
By KTM Metro Reporter
August 26, 2012: holding a press conference at the Balkhu party headquarters in Kathmandu today afternoon, the CPN-UML leaders reviewed the performances of the one-year rule of the Bhattarai-led coalition government of UCPN-Maoist and UDMF, and made conclusions that the government was infested with corruption and completely failed in completing the peace process and constitution writing.
CPN-UML leaders came to the conclusion that without ousting the Bhattarai government they would not be able to save the country from being a failure ignoring the fact that they had played the role of villains in bringing the country to the current state of deadlock. Failure to recognize the need for federalism, these so-called CPN-UML leaders had been going against federalism and did not want to listen to the voices of ethnic groups.
The irony is that one of the infamous corrupt ministers of Jahalanath Khanal-led government, former Finance Minister Bharat Mohan Adhikari had charged the Bhattarai-led government with corruption but failed to report to the Commission on Investigation into Abuse of Authority if he had found the corruption cases made by the government. Mr. Adhikari as a Finance Minister opted for giving an amnesty to the VAT defaulters making billions of rupees worth of losses to the nation surely for making money for himself and his party. Mr. Adhikari had forced the secretary to the Ministry of Finance out of office for not abiding his order to give an amnesty to the VAT defaulters.
