Nepal And China Signed Off Agreements

Kathmandu: The Chinese delegation led by Vice-primer Wang Yang and the Nepalese delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Bijaya Kumar Gacchedar have successfully managed to get signed off three agreements such as Agreement on Economic and Technical Assistance Cooperation, Framework Agreement on Promotion of Investment And Economic Assistance Cooperation, and Letters of Exchange for Oil and Gas Exploration in Nepal.

 

On behalf of Nepal, Secretary to Finance Ministry Shanta Raj Subedi, and on behalf of China, Chinese Vice-Minister of Commerce and Deputy China International Trade Representative Yu Jianhua signed off the agreements in Kathmandu yesterday.

 

Vice-primer Wang said that China was providing Nepal with US$ 1 million for the humanitarian assistance to the recent floods victims.

 

Deputy Prime Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara and Vice-primer Wang Yang jointly initiated the reconstruction of nine-storied palace reduced to three-storied in the quakes of 2015 with the Chinese funding at Basantapur in Kathmandu yesterday. The total estimated cost of the rehabilitation of the ancient palace is NPR 153.6 millions, the news in “gorkhapatra” of today stated.

 

Vice-primer Wang met with former Prime Ministers Prachanda and KP Oli yesterday and they had talks about the bilateral interest.

 

Then, Vice-primer Wang called on Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba today afternoon. Prime Minister Deuba posted the picture of he shaking hand with Vice-primer Wang on the facebook, and said that he had had fruitful talks.

 

Vice-primer Wang also visited National Ayurveda Research and Training Center in Kirtipur today, and he pledged to cooperate with Nepal in conducting Ayurvedic research at the center.
