UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon visiting Nepal

March 10, 2012: United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon is likely to visit Nepal on April 28 to participate in the international meeting on the development of Lumbini: the birth place of Lord Buddha on April 29, 2012, as the Broader Lumbini Development Directive Committee (BLDDC) held at the office of Lumbini Development Fund at Babarmahal on Friday has set the date for the visit of the Secretary General, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes.
The government has set up the BLDDC for the comprehensive development of Lumbini. Former Prime Minister Prachanda also the chairman of UCPN-Maoist is the coordinator of the BLDDC; during his visit to New York, he had invited UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon to attend the multi-stakeholder international meeting. Secretary General Moon had accepted the invitation. Moon had also agreed to lead an international council for the development of Lumbini according to the news posted on ‘The Rising Nepal.’
