Amending Interim Constitution Of Nepal Of 2007

May 20, 2012: the House has yesterday passed the bill on amending the Interim Constitution of Nepal of 2007 to shorten the procedures of completing a new constitution by overwhelming votes, thus paving the way for making the possibility of promulgating a new constitution on or before May 27, 2012.

Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Posta Bahadur Bogati tabled the bill on the twelfth amendment of the Interim Constitution of 2007 at the parliament; the Speaker put the bill to vote after none of the lawmakers raised any questions on the bill. Of the 595 lawmakers, only 536 participated in the voting; 533 lawmakers voted for the passing the bill; three lawmakers voted against it, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes.
