By KTM Metro Reporter

August 7, 2013: the swollen Syali rivulet has swept away the infrastructure of the Milan Primary School at the Andhajala Freed Kamaiya Camp at Dekhatbhuli VDC-4 in Kanchanpur. The school has suffered a property damage of over 1.5 million rupees from the floods. The school was set up for the children of the freed Kamaiya families living in the camp six years ago, according to the RSS news on ‘gorkhapatraonline.com.’

Framers in the Mahottari district have been worried about the drought causing damage to their crops. Some areas of this district have not received rains even when heavy downpour has caused floods in the neighboring districts and other parts of the country. Much of Mahottari has not received rains since the second week of July making farmers unable to transplant rice seedlings, according to the RSS news on ‘gorkhapatronline.com.’
