NC and CPN-UML in crisis Says Vaidya ‘Kiran’

Issue 20, May 17, 2009

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

Talking to the anchor of the morning program called ‘Antar Sambad’ of the state-run Radio Nepal, Maoist leader Mohan Vaidya ‘Kiran’ has said that the NC and CPN-UML are really in crisis not the UCPN-Maoist, as they have been heading toward the militarization whereas the UCPN-Maoist has been the real defender of democracy in Nepal. Concerning the question of the Maoists obstructing the parliament and closing the door of forming a new government, Mr. Vaidya has said that the NC and CPN-UML have not been able to garner a majority so far for forming a new government, so, the charge of the Maoists closing the door of forming a new government is baseless; the Maoists will not care of forming a government until the President corrects his unconstitutional step; the current need is to write a new constitution, to complete the peace process and build a new Nepal; he also said that the UCPN-Maoist is holding a mass rally on May 17, 2009 against the unconstitutional step of the President.
