Issue 08, February 20, 2011

By KTM Metro Reporter

February 15, 2011: according to Reviewnepal.com, the UCPN-Maoist leaders have decided on Monday, February 14, 2011 to join the Jhalanath Government following the Seven-point deal they have reached with the prime minister to complete the peace process and the writing of a new constitution.

NC leaders have been telling the people that if Khanal offers the home Ministry to the UCPN-Maoist it will be disastrous to the country. They have also said that the Seven-point agreement the UCPN-Maoist has reached with the CPN-UML goes against the Comprehensive Peace Agreement, Interim Constitution of Nepal of 2007 and various other agreements.

The alliance among the thirteen political parties including the NC has agreed to fight against the Seven-point deal the UCPN-Maoist and the CPN-UML have reached on February 03, 2011. Possibility of highly tainted former Prime Minister Madhav Nepal and his colleague influential leader but lacking reason and foresight K.P. Oli also joining them is very high. Madhav Nepal and KP Oli have started their campaign against the Seven-point deal charging Khanal with not following the party decision.

Madhav Nepal and KP Oli have charged Khanal with being adamant to enforce the Seven-point deal without making changes in it despite the politburo members have decided to correct certain controversial points of the deal. They have also charged Khanal with reaching the deal with the Chairman of UCPN-Maoist without consulting other leaders of the party.

At the same time, Khanal has assured Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda of giving the home ministry to the UCPN-Maoist. Apparently, Khanal is preparing to announce the names of ministers holding various portfolios.
