General Committee Meeting of Nepali Congress

On Friday, October 9, 2009, after the two-day deliberation, the Central Working Committee (CWC) of the Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to hold the General Committee called ‘Mahasamiti meeting of the NC scheduled from November 1 to 3, 2009 defying the President’s call for calling off the meeting.
President Girija Prasad Koirala has instructed the central leaders to call off the General Committee meeting for focusing on holding a general convention. It remains to be seen whether the CWC’s decision on holding the ‘Mahasamiti’ meeting as scheduled would hold on despite the NC President’s disagreement on it.
