TMLP’s Accusation Comes True

Issue 02, January 09, 2011

By KTM Metro Reporter

January 4, 2011: officiating Prime Minister Madhav Nepal has refused to fire Minister for Industry Mahendra Yadav and State Minister for Industry Dan Bahadur Chaudhary even though Chairman of Terai Madhesh Loktantrik Party (TMLP) Mahantha Thakur has requested the prime minister for firing Yadav and Chaudhary after they have set up a breakaway party splitting the TMLP, nepalnews.com writes quoting the ‘Annapurna Post’ daily reported.

The officiating prime minister’s refusal to punish the indiscipline party members of the TMLP has amply supported the accusation made by the TMLP leaders that the CPN-UML is behind the scene of breaking the TMLP into two pieces.

However, the statement signed by the secretary to the office of the CPN-UML, Ganga Lal Tuladhar has denied any involvement in the split of the TMLP. "It is nothing more than an irresponsible and childish act to accuse a loktantrik party: the UML for the split of TMLP. This has deeply shocked and enraged the party," ‘The Rising Nepal’ of January 4, 2011 writes quoting office secretary Ganga Lal Tuladhar.

"The party has split because of its own factors but it is pointing its finger at the UML. Couldn’t we state that there is ill intent and conspiracy behind implicating party chairman Jhala Nath Khanal for its division?" Tuladhar said in the statement.

Tuladhar has said that his party condemns such allegation of the TMLP leaders and has demanded the TMLP leaders apologize to the CPN-UML leader for the baseless accusation in public.

At the same time, leader of breakaway faction of TMLP Mahendra Raya Yadav has said that his colleagues and he have broken away from the TMLP, as the leaders don’t follow the party democracy working on their whims; it has nothing to do with the CPN-UML leaders; so, it is wrong to accuse someone for the mistake of the leader of TMLP.

Recently, some members of the Madhesh People’s Rights Forum-Democratic led by officiating Deputy Prime Minister Bijaya Gacchedar have also revolted against the leadership and set up a new party but the officiating prime minister has fired its leader Sanjay Sah on the recommendation of Mr. Gacchedar.
