By KTM Metro Reporter

May 26, 2013: Speaking at an event held by the Press Union of Ilam on Friday, May 24, 2013, president of NC Sushil Koirala said that Chairman of Interim Election Council of Ministers Khil Raj Regmi should resign from the office of chief justice to pave the way for holding elections smoothly, according to the news posted on ‘gorkhapatraonline.com today.

President Koirala said that Regmi should resign from the office of the chief justice to persuade the opposing political parties to take part in the elections to the Constituent Assembly (CA). “Chairman Regmi should tender his resignation from the CJ if it would be helpful in building an environment conducive to elections,” said Koirala.

Koirala also said that the election fever spreading all over the country has shown that no one could stop the country from going to the CA polls; so, elections would be held in November at any cost.

“NC will contest on its own and will establish itself as the largest political force in the country after the CA election,” he claimed, and he made it clear that his party would not go to the polls in alliance with the CPN-UML at any cost.
