Unstoppable Diarrhea Epidemic

On August 10, 2009, speaking at the inaugural function of ‘Teaching Hospital and Research Center’ set up by the Gandaki Medical College in Pokhara, Prime Minister Madhav Nepal has acknowledged that his government has not been able to stop the diarrhea epidemic in the mid-western Nepal and also has said that he is very sad for the loss of so many lives from the diarrhea.
At the same time, the five fringe communist parties have jointly staged a sit-in rally at the western gate of the State Secretariat called Singhadurbar in Kathmandu protesting against the government not seriously taking up the diarrhea epidemic in the western Nepal and the high price-rise of the daily-need commodities throughout Nepal.
