Tropical storm in Myanmar

On May 05, 2008, the tropical storm has made a huge damage to the lives and property of the people in Myanmar. The death toll has been more than 22,000 and more than 41,000 are still missing. The tropical storm has heavily damaged the coastal areas flattening villages and towns.
The international community has been ready to assist the people of Myanmar in bringing back the disrupted lives to normal but the Junta has rejected it. US President George Bush called on the Junta to give permission to the international community to take up a relief work.
About 200,000 Nepalese-origin people have been living in Myanmar. The Nepalese embassy officials have attempted to contact the foreign office of the Junta but without a success, as the Junta has not responded it.
Prime Minister of Nepal Girija Prasad Koirala has expressed deep sorrow for the loss of lives and property of the people of Myanmar in his message of condolence to the Junta leader in Myanmar.
