Damage Controlling Measures Of Prime Minster

issue 05, January 29, 2012

By KTM Metro Reporter

January 23, 2012: Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has done damage to his government and his reputation making the decision on legalizing the business actions of the People’s Governments set up by the Maoists during the insurgency. Every political party including the partner UDMF in the government has opposed this decision.

Now, the prime minister has been trying to control the damage done going to one political leader after another and convincing them of not enforcing the decision. Prime Minister Bhattarai went to see President of NC Sushil Koirala at his residence in Maharagunj yesterday to repair the damage and asked him to run the House session as the decision was not a big deal and it could be revoked.

Similarly, Dr. Bhattarai went to see CPN-UML leader KP Oli, clearly for assuring him of the government not enforcing the decision his cabinet has made on legalizing the business actions of the people’s governments.

Dr. Bhattarai also has told both the leaders of NC and CPN-UML he has met with yesterday that the case of decision on legalizing the business actions of the people’s governments is at the Supreme Court of Nepal, and what the Supreme Court would rule would be the final decision.

Making decisions and then revoking them have clearly indicated that Dr. Bhattarai also makes the decision not foreseeing their impact on his reputation and on the opposition. Most probably, these Maoist guys have the mindset of they can make decisions and everybody would accept their decisions. Such things could only happen in the despotic rule.
