INJSC Demands Constitution With Federalism

April 6, 2012: Different constituent parties, federations and organizations of the Indigenous Nationalities Joint Struggle Committee (INJSC)-2012 have demanded bringing a new constitution with federalism within May 27.
Organizing a press meet here on Friday, the Struggle Committee put forth different demands including promulgating federal democratic republican secular constitution and formulating a fully proportional electoral system, among others.
Coordinator of the Secretariat of the Committee, Parshuram Tamang said that the previous agreement signed with the government should be implemented for ensuring the right to self-determination of the Indigenous Nationalities. Tamang demanded that there should be guarantee of proportional and inclusive representation in all bodies and levels of the state.
Different 58 constituent parties, federations and organizations of Indigenous communities are associated to the Struggle Committee, ‘The Himalayan Times’ writes.
