Regret Motion Against Minister For Supplies

At the meeting held on Wednesday, February 24, 2010, the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has passed a regret motion against the Minister for Supplies Rajendra Mahato for not doing anything for stopping the massive export of crushed stones causing widespread environmental deterioration in the environmentally sensitive areas such Chure hills.

The PAC has invited the secretaries to the ministries, and heads of the state-owned companies to inquire about the misuse of vehicles by politicians and government officials after the publicity of the misuse of vehicles belonging to the Nepal Electricity Authority by CPN-UML leader KP Oli and NC leaders Krishna Prasad Bhattarai and Sher Bahadur Deuba. The PAC members have been concerned with the non-attendance of the heads of state-owned companies such as Nepal Oil Corporation and Nepal Food Corporation and Secretary to Ministry of Supplies very much.
