Imparting Training To International Election Observers

October 18, 2013: The Election Commission has imparted training to international elections observers on Wednesday, October 16, 2013. They have arrived in Nepal to monitor the elections to a Constituent Assembly (CA) scheduled for November 19, according to the RSS news posted on ‘gorkhapatraonline.com.’
The Chief Election Commissioner, Election Commissioners and high-placed officials of the EC imparted training to a team of 34 election observers from the European Commission and 12 observers from the Carter Centre.
The international election observers have been asked to monitor whether the election code of conducts are followed or not whether work mentioned in the manifestoes of the political parties related to the elections are enforced or not, said Election Commissioner Dr Rambhakta PB Thakur.
“We also had asked them to immediately report to the EC if election code of conduct were found to be breached during the period of elections”, said he giving brief remarks on training.
