Nobody Can Stop The Elections

Issue 39, September 29, 2013

By KTM Metro Reporter

September 24, 2013: showdown is on: whether the elections would be held or disrupted. The four-party political mechanism was for holding the lections at any cost but the 33-party front headed by the CPN-Maoist was to disrupt at any cost.

Talking to the reporters at the Bharatpur Airport in Chitwan, Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda said yesterday that nobody could disrupt the CA polls. "The election process has moved ahead and the election will be held easily no matter which force boycotts it," the news on the ‘gorkhapatraonline.com’ quoted Chairman Prachanda as saying.

Chairman Prachanda said that efforts were made on bringing on board the CPN-Maoist to participate in the elections. "The High Level Political Committee members are putting their full efforts to bring the CPN-Maoist and its 33-allaince on board the election," Prachanda said. Efforts to make the CPN-Maoist go to the CA elections polls would be continued until the eleventh hour, he said, and his party had proposed the CPN-Maoist both the poll-alliance and the party unification but both went astray.

Speaking at the mass rally held by the 33-party front at Tundikhel in Kathmandu yesterday, Chairman of CPN-Maoist Mohan Vaidhya said that his party would disrupt the elections to be held by the government set up by the four-party syndicate; even if the elections to a new constituent assembly were to hold, the constituent assembly would not be able to craft a new people’s constitution. The elections are the conspiracy of the foreign power, Vaidhya said.
