Issue 34, August 24, 2008

By KTM Metro reporter in Kathmandu

On Saturday, August 23, 2008, newly elected Prime Minister Prachanda is leaving Nepal for China to participate in the concluding ceremony of Olympic Game in Beijing. Accepting the invitation extended by Chinese ambassador to Nepal Zheng Xiangling to attend the concluding ceremony of the Olympic Game, Prime Minister Prachanda broke the tradition of Nepalese Prime Minister first visiting India. However, Indian Prime Minister Man Mohan Singh had stated in his congratulatory message that he would like to welcome Prime Minister Prachanda at any time of the latter’s convenience.
