By KTM Metro Reporter
Pakistan's President General Pervez Musharraf might hold the presidential election for electing himself on Saturday, October 06, 2007 as planned but his victory is still in doubt as the Supreme Court of Pakistan says that the election result should not disclose the winner until it rules whether Pervez Musharraf in the army uniform could contest in the election. The Supreme Court has set October 17 for hearing on this case. Gen Musharraf has dropped corruption charges against former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto in a bid to secure the support of her party for his victory in the presidential election. With the support of Benazir Bhutto’s party, President Musharraf anticipates to easily mustering a majority in the national parliament and four provincial assemblies that form the Electoral College for electing the president.
