Indian-American Elected Governor of Louisiana, US

By KTM Metro Reporter On Saturday, October 20, 2007, American-born son of Indian immigrants, Bobby Jindal got elected with 54 percent of the vote for the Governor of Louisiana defeating 11 rivals. In one of the interviews given after his election, Mr. Jindal said that his parents came to the US for the American dream, they found it right there in Louisiana. In his parent’ native country India, the proud-extended family members of the Jindal’s family celebrated the victory of Bobby Jindal with the traditional Punjabi folk dance called ‘bhangra’ in Maler Kotla of the northern Punjab State.
