Independent Kosovo

Kosovo declared it an independent state on Sunday, February 17, 2008. United States of America and most of the European Union countries recognized Kosovo as an independent state. Russia of President Vladimir Putin and some other east European countries are against the independent Kosovo.
On February 21, 2008, Serbians rallied at the embassy of the United States of America and some European countries in Belgrade, capital of Serbia to protest the recognition of Kosovo as an independent state by those countries.
