Doctors Revoke Indefinite Shutdown Of Hospitals

Issue 01, January 3, 2010

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

On December 28, 2009, after the Government has assured the doctors of enforcing the agreements the government has reached with them and meeting other demands, doctors are doing their regular businesses at the hospitals. However, the Nepal Medical Association (NMA) has said that the association has set the deadline of 15 days for the government enforcing the agreements and meeting the demands, if the government fails to meet the deadline then the association will shutdown all hospitals for an indefinite period again.

Similarly, the protesting staffs of the local governments have returned to work after the government has assured them of meeting their demands. They have started clearing the hills of trashes from every corner of Kathmandu. However, the trash might not go to the dumping site as the people from the dumping site have refused to let dump the trash until their demands are met.

The teachers of higher secondary schools also have returned to work opening all higher secondary schools across the country after the government has assured them of meeting their demands.
