Review Of Comprehensive Peace Agreement

October 22, 2009, Chief of UNMIN Karen Landgren has met with Prime Minister Madhav Nepal and has shown her concern for the remarks of the Defense Minister on the need for review of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) the Government of Nepal had signed with the then Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist. Miss Landgren has said that the review of the CPA goes against the peace process rather both the concerned parties need to strictly follow the CPA. She has also said that such provocative remarks would not contribute to the peace process.

After the meeting with the UNMIN Chief, the press advisor to the Prime Minister has said that the Prime Minister has assured the UNMIN Chief that the government will strictly follow the CPA.
