Follow Rule of Law For Consensus Politics

Issue 18, May 2, 2010

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

April 30, 2010: in a meeting with Nepalese Prime Minister Madhav Nepal on the sideline of the SAARC summit held in Thimpu of Bhutan, Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has told Madhav Nepal to follow the rule of law and follow the consensus politics for breaking the current political deadlock in Nepal. In such a case, Indian government and political leaders will support the Madhav government.

Prime Minister Madhav Nepal has been widely known for bullying the rule of law and has been standing on the support of the unscrupulous political leaders for running the government set up by the politically and economically corrupt politicians seizing the opportunity of the elected Prime Minister resigning following the democratic principles and protesting against the President abusing his ceremonial status by directly writing a letter to the then army chief and ordering him to stay on in the job.

The current political deadlock is entirely due to the Madhav government not following the rule of law and his supporters not following the basic principles of democracy.
