Kathmandu: Secretary to Ministry of Supplies also Chairman of Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) Board of Directors: Krishna Prasad Devkota made a decision on taking actions against Managing Director of Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC): Gopal Khadka for his involvement in the land procurement scandal and made recommendations for Minister for Supplies: Shiva Kumar Mandal to take actions against Khadka, the news on therisingnepal.org.np stated today.

 

NOC had purchased some plots of land in Jhapa, Sarlahi, Chitwan and Rupandehi districts for constructing depots to store petroleum products making sufficient for meeting the demand at least for three months in the country.

 

The Industry, Commerce and Consumer Welfare Committee of the Legislature-Parliament set up a sub-committee to conduct an on-site study on the land plots the NOC had purchased. After the on-site study, the sub-committee prepared a report on the study and the report stated that officials of NOC and of the land revenue offices and the local ward offices in the districts were involved in this shady land-purchase deal; and the purchase exceeded the limit the NOC Board of Directors had mandated, the news stated.

 

“Corruption has been committed at the institutional level, and MD Khadka has been found involved in it,” said the parliamentary committee, the new quoted.

 

At the same time, officials of the Nagarik daily has filed a case at the Kathmandu District Court against Gopal Bahadur Khadka: Managing Director of Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) claiming NPR 1.5 billion for the damages Khadka had done filing a false case against the Nagarik daily officials, the news on myrepublica.com stated on September 12, 2017.

 

“We should get Rs 1.5 billion as the false case has caused a huge damage to our social prestige, image, and dignity, and incurred financial and professional losses to us as well as expenses for lawyers, typing, fees for representatives and other expenses in facing the case,” reads the counter complaint, the news stated.
