Issue 52, December 29, 2013

By KTM Metro Reporter

December 26, 2013: the Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB) has introduced barcode in answer sheets and an optical mark reader in the ten plus-two examination system, said Acting Examination Controller Durga Aryal, according to the RSS news on ‘gorkhapatraonline.com’.

Controller Aryal said that the new system would bring reform in the examination system plugging loopholes seen in the past. Controller Aryal also said that students would be provided with registration certificates immediately after scanning their photos and signatures used in the registration form of grade 11. It would check fake students taking the examinations and prevent the preparation of fake educational certificate, he added.

The HSEB has come up with a plan on using a Virtual Private Network system to develop transcript, migration and provisional certificates, which would end the malpractice of making fake certificates.

Controller Aryal said that the HSEB has introduced a computer billing system to manage the income of the institution. Other reforms include early results of the examinations, arrangement of well-equipped printer for printouts of mark ledger and mark sheets.
