End of Junta Rule in Thailand

On Monday, January 25, 2008, the Thai parliament elected Samak Sundaravej for the Prime Minister ending the junta government that was set up by the military coup with the support of the king in September 2006. Mr. Samak’s victory is seen as the victory for the former Prime Minister Thaksin.
