Issue 32, August 07, 2011

By KTM Metro Reporter

August 2, 2011: immediately after taking the oath of office and secrecy, newly appointed Deputy Prime Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha ‘Prakash’ holding the portfolio of the Home Minister yesterday evening told the security chiefs to keep their morale high in performing their duties and not to work on any political pressure, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes.

The question is whether the Maoist Minister Shrestha could break the circles of the corruption net working in the security system of Nepal. Most of the Nepalis advise not to report to the police if you have a burglary at home because the police officials come to your house, take the details of the stolen goods but they never find the burglars and the stolen goods. Most of the police officials have the houses that they could never build with their official incomes. So far, the practice has been the burglars share the stolen goods with the concerned police officials.
