Home Minister's Special Security Plan

Issue 31, August 2, 2009

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

On July 30, 2009, speaking to the Radio Nepal anchor in the morning program called ‘Antar Sambad’, Home Minister Bhim Rawal has said that in consultation with the representatives of the diplomatic missions in Nepal, and high-ranking police and army officials, he has prepared a special security plan on enforcing the law and order and on ending the criminals going free with impunity; it will cost Rs 4 billions to the nation. The Cabinet has approved this plan on July 29, 2009. So, the Home Ministry is set to implement this plan.

Bhim Rawaljee: concerning the impunity, so far you have failed even in arresting your youth cadre who have shot the Nepali Congress student in the heat of the argument over the award of a contract on the civil job at the Tri-chandra Campus in July 2009; is it not shame on you? You know that the corruption-plagued police officers protect the criminals and thieves and have share in the stolen jewelry; in addition, you politicians give protection to the criminals making criminals go free with impunity. In these circumstances, let us hope that your plan will do away with all such evils; and Nepalis will live in peace and prosperity.
