Nepal Police Launch Nationwide Manhunt For Suspects In Setting Off Bombs

March 1, 2012: the Nepal Police have identified the perpetrators of setting off bombs at the office of the state-run utility company called Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) at Babarmahal in Kathmandu killing three people and injuring several people a few days ago.

The police have identified Dev Raj Lama the 35-year-old man as the leader of the organization called United Ethnic Liberation Front (UELF) that has claimed for setting off the bomb at the office of NOC in protest against the recent price rise of petroleum products. The police have put the picture of Lama in the ads published in the local newspapers asking the people anybody identifying him either call the nearest police or in case of taking him in custody turn him over to the police. The police also have detained several suspects in setting off the bomb.

The Police had once arrested Lama for his crimes such as extortion that his organization UELF had run. The local media report has it that the UELF also has been responsible for setting of a bomb in the Dadhing district in central Nepal on Saturday.

The Ministry for Peace and Reconstruction has had held talks with UELF commanders in August in the course of holding a dialogue with more than 30 armed and underground groups responsible for violence in Nepal but the talks did not results in any positive way.
