March 1, 2013: leaders of the UCPN-Maoist, NC, CPN-UML and UDMF have met with the head of state President Dr Ram Baran Yadav at his office in Kathmandu today to brief him on the latest political development in the country, and to complete the package deal on forming a new government presided over by the Chief Justice.

Earlier this morning, the leaders discussed the formation of a government at the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar. After the meeting with the President, the leaders will again sit for talks later this evening, according to Gorkhapatraonline.com, March 1, 2013.

After the meeting with the head of state, UCPN-Maoist leader Krishna Bahadur Mahara said that the parties are yet to narrow down the differences among them related to new citizenship, election procedures, formation of Truth and Reconciliation Commission and Commission on Disappearance. “The parties will forge consensus on all these issues by March 5 sorting out all the contentions,” Mahara, also a member of the eight-member taskforce, said, according to THT ONLINE of today.
