Extend Term Of CA Say Legislators
By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu
April 19, 2010: legislators belonging to the CPN-UML have suggested to extend the term of Constituent Assembly (CA) for a year ignoring the provision made in the Interim constitution of Nepal of 2007 for six months only that also in the extra-ordinary situation. It indicates that the CPN-UML legislators are not for following the rule of law. So, the Prime Minister belonging to the CPN-UML does naturally not follow the rule of law.
The legislators need to know that if they really want to extend the term of CA for a year and lengthen the reign of Prime Minister Madhav Nepal for a year, they need to amend the Interim Constitution of Nepal of 2007 for making the provision for the same. To this end, they need the support of the legislators of the UCPN-Maoist. So, they need to work on the consensus politics that means the end of the current government and formation of a new consensus government according to the demand of the UCPN-Maoist.
