Constitutional Expert Laxman Aryal Dies

On September 16, 2009, Constitutional Expert Laxman Aryal died at the state-run Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu. He was 72. He had been suffering from multi-diseases.
He was the coordinator of the Committee on Drafting Constitution of Nepal of 1990. He had been the active participant in the people’s movement for democracy in 2006.
He had been the justice of the Supreme Court of Nepal and had spent most of his life on the legal profession. He had been the Chairman of the Nepal Bar Association from 1985 to 1988.
His body was cremated at Aryaghat in Kathmandu. Politicians and legal professionals have paid generous tribute to the late Aryal.
