No Bonus To NOC Staff

Issue 33, August 15, 2010

By KTM Metro Reporter

August 11, 2010: in view of the huge amount of loss the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has accumulated in the past, the Commission on Investigation Into Abuse Of Authority (CIAA) has blocked the enforcement of the decision of the board of the state-run company NOC on distributing bonus to its staff from the profits it has claimed to make in the fiscal year 2009. NOC has monopoly on buying and selling petroleum products in Nepal. Despite such a monopoly, it has been making a huge loss due to the political interference in the management of this company.

Secretary to the Ministry of Commerce and Supplies also Chairman of NOC Purushottam Ojha has said that the corporation board will not only forbid the NOC to distribute bonus to staffs but also to other loss-making state-run companies following the instruction of the CIAA according to the news of the myrepublica.com
