Skydiving In Nepal

On October 16, 2009, Explore Himalaya has said that five persons and one tandem jump have successfully demonstrated the skydiving at the area near Mount Everest jumping from 25,000 ft and landing at Shyangboche of 12,500 ft. Mount Everest stands at more than 29,000 ft.

All skydivers are from different countries except for one Nepali who have dived with an American national. The skydivers have jumped from the Tara Air's Pilatus Porter aircraft at Mount Everest area about 150 km east of Kathmandu.

This is the second event of skydiving in Nepal, the first was on September 22 when two British and one Indian jumped from an altitude of 20,000 feet and landed at the world's highest drop zone Gorakshep about 130 km east of Kathmandu.
