PABSON to Protest Against Tax

Issue 10, March 08, 2009

BY KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

The Private and Boarding Schools' Organization Nepal (PABSON) issued a warning to the government of protesting against the five percent 'educational service tax'. The business community gave their moral support to the PABSON for the protest against the tax. The business community has also been voicing against the Voluntary Disclosure of Income System (VDIS), as they have been used to amass wealth without paying taxes to the government in the past.

The PABSON and the business community need to understand that they could achieve nothing even though they protest, as the legislature-parliament passed the budget for FY 2008 with the provision for collecting the taxes in question.
