Nepalese Dignitaries Holidaying In China

October 21, 2010: Nepalese dignitaries are set to make holidays trips to China after the long religious holidays in Nepal.

Vice-President Pramananda Jha has left Kathmandu today for China for the four-day trip from October 21 to October 24 for attending the 11th Western China International Economic Show in Chengdu of the Sichuan Province. Before the departure from International Airport in Kathmandu, talking to the reporters, the Vice-president has said that he will meet with the top Chinese officials for holding talks on the trade relations between Nepal and China. Secretary to the Office of the Vice-President Bajra Kishor Prasad Shah, Secretary to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Bimal Wagle, and Joint-Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Rudra Kumar Nepal are among others on the entourage of the Vice-President.

Former Prime Minister and Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda is leaving Kathmandu on October 22 for China to attend the closing ceremony of the Shanghai Expo of 2010 at the invitation of the Chinese authorities.

President Ram Baran Yadav is also leaving Kathmandu for China for a weeklong visit from October 26 to November 02. His entourage will comprise 17 members. He will attend the concluding ceremony of the Shanghai Expo on October 31.

A cabinet meeting held at the official residence of the officiating Prime Minister on the evening of Wednesday, October 20 has approved the official visits of the President and the Vice President and their entourages.
