‘I Cannot Fire Agni Sapkota,’ Says Prime Minister

June 16, 2011: Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal has said in his reply to the notice served by the Supreme Court of Nepal that he could not fire his Minister for Information and Communication Agni Sapkota as demanded by the Human Rights activists in the case filed at the Supreme Court of Nepal because Mr. Sapkota is the member of the coalition government and the coalition partner UCPN-Maoist has nominated him, ‘Gorkhapatra’ of today writes.

Speaking at the hearing on the case filed against Agni Sapkota, Attorney General Dr. Yuva Raj Sangraula has demanded yesterday to revoke the case filed against Sapkota, as it does not meet the legal requirements rather contradicts the law and the constitution. Hearing on the case will continue.
