By KTM Metro Reporter
August 28, 2011: the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has increased the prices of kerosene and diesel by Rs 1.25 making the price of kerosene and diesel Rs 75 per liter each. The price of gasoline has kept at Rs 102 per liter.
The NOC has been increasing the prices of petroleum products disregarding the price of crude oil in the international market. The excuse for increasing the prices of petroleum product is the NOC has been making loss every month.
The main cause of the loss is the corruption and the mismanagement of the NOC. From the Minister for Supplies down to the petty managers of depots have been involved in irregularities in managing the petroleum products. Everybody knows them but nobody takes actions in them because everybody has share in such irregularities.
