Proprietor of Channel Nepal And Space Time Network Shot Dead

On Sunday, February 7, 2010, in a broad daylight and on the very busy street Lazimpat, two people riding a motorcycle with a fake license plate, shot dead Jamin Shah Chairman of Channel Nepal and owner of the cable TV called Space Time Network. According to the police, two people riding motorcycle with a fake license palte have followed his car and when they reached Lazimpat they fired Jamin Shah killing him and inuring him his driver.

Cable network operators and private TV channel owners have demanded the Government of Nepal find out the culprits and punish them. They have also warned the government of launching a protest movement if the government fails in finding the culprits. The irony is that since Home Minister Bhim Rawal has introduced his especial security plan, the crime rate has rose.

According to the BBC news of February 7, 2010, the Government of India has accused Mr. Shah of having link between him and a major Indian crime syndicate, and Pakistan's ISI intelligence agency. He was a Nepali citizen of Kashmiri origin.
