A Clash Of Police In Nepal, New Police Recruits Left Jobs

October 23, 2013: protesting against hiring them only for one and a half months instead of two months stated in the advertisement, some term police recruits demonstrated at the Bara District Police Office (DPO). The regular police clashed with the term police injuring some term police. Term police recruits are for the security of the elections to a new constituent assemble scheduled for November 19, 2013.
The ‘gorkhapatra’ of October 22, 2013 writes that 369 term police recruits have quit the job in the Nuwakot district stating they should have the job for two months instead of one and a half months, and they should receive Rs 31,000 instead of Rs 24,000.
Some of the rebel new police recruits have returned to work, the ‘gorkhapatra’ of today writes but it does not say how many of them have returned. The news also says that the police have said to take actions against some of the rebel recruits following the public offense act.
