Chairman Prachanda Returns Home From Bangkok

Issue 01, January 6, 2013

By KTM Metro Reporter

January 2, 2013: Speaking to the reporters on arrival at the Kathmandu International Airport from Bangkok today, Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda said that he would bring the political leaders to a consensus on a package deal if they don’t want to reach an agreement on a package deal then he would find a meeting point that would be agreeable to all political parties.

At the same time, Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai told the senior leader of CPN-UML Madhav Nepal to find an independent candidate for a new government, as the candidacy of NC President Sushil Koirala is not acceptable to the ruling coalition. NC presented its President Koirala as the candidate for a new government after all the political parties put pressure on the NC to name a candidate for a new government.

One of the UDMF leaders and Minister for Health and Population Rajendra Mahato said that the current government needed to transform into a national consensus government to break the current political stalemate and then hold elections to a new CA.

UCPN-Maoist western regional chief Leelamani Pokharel said that Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai should not quit the office without making a package deal, as the prime minister quitting the office without a package deal means total chaos to the politics in the country.
