Demanding Nominations Of Correct People Following Constitution

Issue 02, January 12, 2014

By KTM Metro Reporter

January 9, 2014: newly elected CA member Biswendra Paswan filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court of Nepal yesterday demanding the nomination of individuals who have contributed to the nation in the 26 seats to be nominated to the Constituent Assembly, according to the RSS news on ‘gorkhapatraonline.com’.

In the writ, newly elected CA member Paswan argued that the nomination of individuals not in the party politics, not contested the elections, have contributed to the nation and the indigenous community not represented through the election and following the Article 63(3) of the Interim Constitution of Nepal should be done.

He has also called for adherence to the provisions made in the Article 63(3) for the requirement of a nominated CA member including among others the contribution made to the nation.

The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the Constituent Assembly Secretariat, the Legislature-parliament Secretariat, the High-level Political Committee and the Election Commission have been named as defendants in the writ.
