Alleged Murderer Ram Prasad Adhikari Released

Issue 40, October 6, 2013

By KTM Metro Reporter

October 1, 2013: after the district attorney general office rejected the case filed by the Chitwan Police against Ram Prasad Adhikari allegedly the killer of Krishna Prasad Adhikari killed in Chitwan during the civil war, the Chitwan Police turned over Ram Prasad Adhikari to his relatives in Chitwan, according to the news in the ‘gorkhapatra’ of today.

The parents of Ram Prasad Adhikari broke their fast after Ram Prasad Adhikari was arrested in Kathmandu, and transferred him to Chitwan for the investigation; and the government assured the parents of the investigation into the murder of their son. Ram Prasad Adhikari had been in the police custody for 25 days.

However, the UCPN-Maoist leaders and cadres have been saying that a special commission set up for it not by the regular court system should take up the conflict era cases.

The Maoists apparently killed Krishna Prasad Adhikari in the suspicion of being an informant in Chitwan during the civil war.
