Supreme Court Set To Hearing On Corruption Case Concerning Khadka

March 28, 2011: the Supreme Court of Nepal has served a subpoena to former minister and NC leader Khum Bahadur Khadka to be present at the Supreme Court for hearing on the corruption case filed by the Commission on Investigation into Abuse of Authority against him according to the news posted on ‘Nepalnews.com’ today.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice of Supreme Court of Nepal Ram Prasad Shrestha and Justice Sushila Karki has opened the corruption case against Khadka the Special Court had closed unlawfully four years ago, and has asked the government authorities to present him at the court within the next fifteen days to face corruption charges if he does not present himself.
On March 17, 2011, the Supreme Court of Nepal had sent NC leader and former minister Chiranjivi Wagle to the jail for one-and-a-half years convicting him of corruption and charging him with the fine of Rs. 20.3 million. Another corrupt NC leader and former minister Govinda Raj Joshi remains to be sent to jail for stealing the state money. Rabindranath Sharma of RPP has died before getting into jail for stealing the state money.
