Another Mass Rally At What Cost

June 15, 2012: UCPN-Maoist is holding a mass rally of the party cadres including all ethnic groups at Tundikhel today to disclose the parties behind the dissolution of the CA and reasons for it according to Krishna Bahadur Mahara, and prepare the mass to move ahead to the fresh election to a new CA, as the date for the elections has been announced, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes. However, cost of holding such a mass is considerably high to the party and to the people, too.
Speaking at the mass rally, Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda said, "There is no alternative to the consensus. We need new constitution. So, I am not going to criticize other political parties at this moment; but only the CA should make a constitution. It is our bottom line," according to the news posted on nepalnews.com.
At the same rally, Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai said that the main reason for the failure of the CA to promulgate a new constitution was the ideological difference between the parties representing the oppressed and the oppressors, and urged the opposition parties to join the government with the mandate of holding fresh elections to a new CA according to the news.
The Maoists have held the mass rally exactly after one week the opposition had held a mass rally at the same spot to oppose the dissolution of the CA and the fresh elections to a new CA.
