Water Supply In The PM Area

KTM Metro Reporter

February 25, 2018

Kathmandu: We the residents of the area next to the official prime ministerial residence at Baluwatar have no drinking water supply from the Panipokhari Water Supply Section since Prime Minister KP Oli took the oath of office from the president on February 13, 2018.

Previously, we used to have the water supply with the gap of every five days for three hours. However, after Oli became the prime minister the water supply has been entirely stopped apparently without any reasons except for the fixing of the pipes they said that had been doing.

The word of mouth spread among the victims of not having the water supply from the Panipokhari Water Supply Section has it that it has been supplying water to the private tankers for sale rather than supplying the water regularly to the common folks.

The first question is how Prime Minister Oli and his family have been doing without the water supply for so long, and why the officials at the prime ministerial residence have not shown any concern for no water supply not only for the people of the area which have the same line of the water supply as of the prime ministerial residence but also the prime ministerial residence.

The second question is whether the stoppage of the regular water supply has been deliberately for making money for the people in power diverting the water from supplying to the common folks to the high-paying customers in the parallel market or not.

Prime Minister Oli needs to answer these questions and take immediate actions against those not supplying water to the common folks, as they should. Prime Minister Oli needs to enforce the rule of law and ensure the smooth delivery of the State services to the common folks.
