Elections To A New CA and CPN-Maoist

November 5, 2013: Vice-president Permananda Jha has said that the government has been moving forward firmly to hold elections to a new constituent assembly (CA); so, there is no doubt about holding the elections; the CPN-Maoist will be looser, as it does not participate in the elections, according to the Radio Nepal morning news of today.

 

Speaking at the function held to honor Sankhadhar Sakhava: founder of the Nepal Samvat in Thimi yesterday, Chairman of Interim Election Council of Ministers Khiraj Regmi has said that the government is holding the elections to a new CA at any cost, and the government would take strong actions against the cadres trying to disrupt the elections. He garlanded the statue of Sankhadhar Sakhava in Thimi, Bhaktapur yesterday appreciating his contribution to the glorious Nepalese New Year he introduced 1134 years ago.

 

The Election Commission has received Rs 4.75 billions worth of the assistance from the donor countries for holding elections. India provided the EC with 48 vehicles; China with the elections materials, and Japan with the ballot boxes and stickers, according to the Radio Nepal news of today.
