Rs 2.91 Billion ADB Assistance For Hydropower Study In Nepal

November 30, 2013: on behalf of their respective agency, Joint Secretary to the Ministry of Finance Madhu Kumar Marasini, and Country Director of ADB Kenichi Yokoyama signed off the agreement on ADB providing Nepal with Rs 2.91 billion for the detailed feasibility studies of Sunkoshi-II with the capacity of 111 MW, and Sunkoshi-III with 536 MW, for the detailed engineering study of the Duhkoshi with 300 MW capacity in Kathmandu yesterday, according to the news ‘gorkhapatra’ of today.

 

Country Director Yokoyama has said that the ADB has been helping Nepal in achieving its target of 10,000 MW of hydropower within 10 years to mitigate the power shortage.

 

Joint Secretary Marasini has appreciated the ADB for providing Nepal with assistance for alleviating the power shortage in Nepal.
